Customer service is not a department, it is everyone?s job. Customer service is defined as??the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase.? It is our goal at Extra Help to provide good customer service and go above and beyond for our customers to make sure they are not only being provided quality services, but the manner in which they are delivered is second to none. Our owner, Teresa Katubig, instills in us to always do the right thing and to treat people the way we would want to be treated. I can honestly say that everyone employed at Extra Help strives to do that every single day. I think that there are customer service standards that a business should set in order to develop a solid foundation, here are some of our standards for providing our clients with good customer service:
Know Who Your Customers Are
If a client walked into your office would you know who they were? Everyone likes to feel important. I know that nothing makes me have that sense of belonging like when I see someone at an establishment I visit frequently and they know who I am. If you create that sense of family within your own business you are more likely to get repeat business and even referrals from current clients.
Go the Extra Mile
A simple and sincere thank you or congratulations goes a long way. Sure, you can send an e-mail, but an e-mail is too easy and takes very little time. Not many things say thank you better than a hand written note. We actually have small cards that serve that very purpose. How great does it feel to get a hand written note in this tech savvy world? It really is the little things that say so much.
Find Out What Your Current Customers Think of Your Business
One of the things we like to do at Extra Help is stay in constant contact with our current clients. We visit them, face-to-face, each quarter and we do this for a couple of reasons. We need and want them to know that we appreciate their business and we want to make sure the service we are providing is to their standards. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to grow our business so we can help our customers grow theirs. Over the years, we have asked several of our clients to provide testimonials and you can see what some of them had to say.
Be Available
Let?s face it. There are not many things more frustrating than needing support and calling a business to get ?Press 1 for ______, Press 2 for ______, Press 3 for the operator.?
When you call Extra Help during regular business hours you will always get a live person on the phone. (Unless it?s 12-1 on Fridays because we have to eat sometime!) None of us have a voicemail box, we carry cell phones. We know that in our industry we have to make ourselves available and we do our best to make that happen.?We know that in order for us to continue to grow as a business we must not only continue to bring in new customers, but we have to go above and beyond to keep our current ones. It is so important that we make a significant effort to build and maintain the relationships that we have established and always let people know that we are appreciative of their business.
?
Our efforts to constantly provide good customer service are so respected that we have been recognized for them; we were a finalist for Best Customer Service in St. Louis.?Extra Help aims to define what is good customer service and is always improving the ways we connect with new and current customers. If you have a payroll outsourcing or employment services need, we not only have exceptional business solutions but our customer service is unbeatable.
